A satisfied customer. I have been coming to B&L for a couple of years now. My first visit was because of a flyer that I received that had a service that no one else offered ( I can't remember what it was now). I was so impressed with the way they conducted business from the time you walked in the door to the moment you received your car. What really stood out to me was the pdf that they email you regarding the condition of your car; from the moment they take it to the garage, to the pictures of various items that need repair or may need repair, the condition of you various fluids and the then the easy to understand red, green and orange sections that make it easy to determine what has to be done immediately and what can probably wait a little. They do not pressure you to get that you don't need by telling you you do. I have always been satisfied and have not had to take my vehicles back in for anything after being repaired by them! I am a veteran, so of course I like that it is a veteran owned business and they offer a military discount. They also mail you this customer appreciation card for $25 off per quarter and it does come in handy. From Brad, to Liz, to Scott and all the guys in the back that turn the wrench, it is always a pleasure when I enter the doors of B&L!!!!!!!!!

This is the most professional, considerate, honest, affordable automotive place you can go to get services done to your car. If I can give them 10stars I would. Liz is a great employee she makes sure you feel like your car is in the best place in the world and it is. First time using them but won't be the last.

Good service just a bit pricy for my taste. I'm not used to spending nearly $50 for an oil change. But everyone was nice and friendly

TL;DR; They tried to make ~$500 for a replacement of rear brakes that are OK. I was a loyal customer of the B&L for several years. Half a year ago I was told that my FRONT brake pads are thin and would need a replacement during the year. So several days ago, when I did an alignment in B&L I also asked them to check my brakes. Next, I got a message form B&L, that my REAR brakes needed a full replacement (shoes and drums(!)). The price was around $500. I was very surprised, and being suspicious, went to another service for diagnostics. They said the same I heard before, FRONT pads were thin, but still could hold for several months and that the REAR brakes were totally fine. That is the story. Next, being curious, I asked how much would rear drums replacement cost at that service and they calculated the price around $300. So that is another sad part - for the last several years the prices in B&L went higher and higher compared to the average in this area.

We are very sad to hear you had a bad experience at our shop. We are and always have been the highest rated 5 star auto repair facility on the Peninsula since 1953. We may not always be the cheapest, but we never have to explain the quality. We also offer the best warranties in the area, and have been named #1 Certified Automotive Repair Center. I appreciate your efforts. I would highly recommend B+L to anyone in need of any type of auto repair or service. Their level of customer service, repair, general service and follow-up is the best I have ever experienced. I have come here many times and will continue to do so. Thanks to them I have been able to keep my 2005 Dodge in great working condition and on the road.

My wife had a tire blowout not far from B & L on her way to work due to Hampton roads wonderful pothole infested roads. Young lady at the front desk was very friendly in getting her into the shop ASAP (as she was already late for work), had the tire changed and spare put on in no time. Wife and I don’t use B&L, but after this incident we will, considering the customer service provided.

Ladies, beware. My husband and I were long-time customers of B&L Auto. But we started noticing more and more often that they were selling me on more and more work that was "strongly recommended". The final blow was when I took my car in for a state inspection, telling them that I had the oil changed recently, they came back telling me that the oil needed to be changed and I needed to seriously consider new brake pads (which was exactly what they told me at the state inspection the previous year). My car failed inspection and I was told it would cost me almost $500 to get that done. I got a second opinion and was able to get that work done for 1/4 the price. I will never go back and warn everyone I know about this business.

We understand that sometimes cars do fail for inspection and that is frustrating, and we certainly apologize for the way you feel towards this State Inspection rejection. Our number one priority is our customers and those other drivers on the road that we all share safety, and we take that very strictly. I'm sorry that you felt that I Price's were higher for the repairs that were needed, but I can assure you that if we compared our warranty/parts, and overall service of over 64 in business we would certainly come out ahead bar none. We will rarely be the cheapest and that's ok with us because we want to offer our customers the best warranties in the business. I did want to address the oil that you said was just changed, and if we had just changed it previously on record we would have done that again for free and monitor how dirty it was at your next change interval with the possibility that next change we need to do an engine flush for the longevity of your engine. Again we apologize for any inconvenience with your inspection, but we do have to follow the guidelines that are set forth by the VA State Police. We never mean to anger anyone with a failed inspection, but unfortunately it does happen and when customers don't see the importance it really makes it hard on the repair shop just as it does for the customer. We hope to see you again one day as our long term customer, and want to serve you with the best service we can.
