I went in to get my A/C recharged. They told me that it was just a slow leak, which was typical of the age of my vehicle (all vehicles). But, they were pushing me to get an additive as "insurance" against further leaks. It was going to cost an extra $90. I told them no, I didn't think it was necessary. They pushed further, but went ahead and did just what I asked for. When I got the van back, it was blowing cold air, but I thought it didn't feel as cold as it should. Then a few months later, it didn't work at all. I took it to another mechanic and it turns out there was a leaky valve. It appears their "insurance" was more for their poor workmanship if they didn't sell me what they wanted. I got the A/C fixed at the other mechanic for less than half of what they charged just for the recharge. I would never go to B&L again!
Trevor, Thank you for your review, and feedback. I would like to first start off by saying that I am sorry that you were unhappy with the service that we provided, and in no way was it our intention for you to feel anything but completely satisfied. I do feel your frustration, and I do want you to know that we value your business as our customer. Please allow me to explain that when dealing with older car HVAC systems, the additive that we offered helps to condition the seals, help prevent further leaks, and also to help save the customer money in the long run on replacing what can be very expensive components do to failure. Freon leaks can & are very problematic, and just servicing a port can cause the seals to leak, and yet another reason we offer the additive. Again, I do apologize for any inconvenience that this may have caused, and hope that you will reconsider visiting us again in the future.
