I was driving on I-64 passing through Newport News going on vacation. My Honda CRV lost power, I was able to idle down the shoulder "googling" the nearest shop. I found B&L Automotive. Liz behind the counter was super helpful and very sympathetic to my situation. Although they were very busy, she got me in. The work was done very quickly and with a cost very much in line with the research I did while I was waiting. I was waiting in the office and was watching while Liz and her counter co-worker (sorry I did not get his name). What I saw and heard while there was Liz going above and beyond for customers. A non-local woman came in with a bad alternator. Her husband had recently replaced it. The diagnostic showed the unit was bad. Liz and co-worker started talking about how they could arrange a refund with the local affiliate of the auto parts store. They even called the place to let them know the woman would be coming over after their car was repaired. They did not have to do that. Simply above and beyond. It was so cool to watch them help people. Especially since one of the people was me! Sorry if this rambled

we got a flat tire on the way home from the obx, we got super lucky picking an exit to get off at to change the tire - all of the workers we SUPER nice - they changed our tire and offered to pick us up the tire from the closest ford shop - great experience with them for it being a crappy situation

Service is excellent. We to another company and was priced gauged.. and 3 days later same issue.. they wanted 1000 to repair.. brought my vehicle to B & L.. they diagnosed and repaired my ac 1 the same day.. truely the best place around and will recommend B&L to everyone.

What an incredibly friendly, helpful, transparent, and efficient team. I live in Norfolk and our car broke down in front of their shop. We were amazed at how quickly they helped us. We will probably be making the trip to B&L for future auto work.

Recently had to get some work done to my truck. They were fast, efficient and I was back on the road the same day. Of course I wish the price could’ve been lower but they did end up getting the price down for me and I def appreciated that.

I’ve went to B&L Automotive two times for different truck issues and I was provided with excellent service both times! Liz was fantastic and it’s evident that she really cares about their customers and resolving their automotive issues as efficiently as possible. They have great reviews and a history of happy customers, but I still feel like they are a hidden gem in Newport News! I trust them with both of my vehicles (I’ll be taking my car there next) and I know that I will get top notch customer service, correctly done repairs, and will pay reasonable prices.

I made an appointment originally for 11 June for a vehicle inspection. On 10 June called B&L to move to the next day. When I arrived my appointment was not on the screen. A young lady apologized for the mishap. I was told to reschedule and vehicle inspection would be on B&L. Finally got vehicle inspected but paid for inspection 😫. Same young lady must have forgotten abut the inconvenience with the miscommunication. Won’t be going back
